Hooray! It's actually hot today!! So warm that i have to open my room windows.
I've been walking back home for the past few days recently. Because it's been sunny! right till 8pm. And they say it'll still be bright even when it's 9 or 10pm, soon. It's so deceiving!
It's so good to be walking and enjoying the sun, the bright sky, the GREEN trees, and flowers!! All bursting in glorious song glorifying God!
Let my lil squeak do its part in the midst of this glorious GRAND Song in singing and glorifying God's awesome wonderful glory! =)
Eeeee....there're flies in my room now! Arghh... i thought flies are supposed to be non-existent here!
I need to buy air tickets now. Should i go back in June or July? =/
Hey people, I sincerely apologise for abandoning this blog for so long. Couldn't find time to update. Kind of lazy to maintain this blog already la actually. Am so tempted to just use the blogger one and abandone this one for good.
Anyway, I'm currently eating spanish rice i just cooked while writing this.
Cooked a big wok of it coz I wanted to finish all the spanish rice leftover from New Word Alive conference. Don't really like it though. It tastes ok, but very jelak. Malaysian food's the best lah!
I'm currently having my Easter break.
How I wish I'm back to watch FGA's easter production!!! If you're still in Malaysia must go watch la k!
And yeah, it's spring now! It's not as cold now. Thank God! Winter was so depressing I tell you.
It's so nice to see flowers blooming around you and also randomly popping of the ground.
It's so nice to see cherry blossoms blooming everywhere!
Like what i mentioned earlier, I went to the New Word Alive conference! It was awesome lah. Came back 2 days ago. It's a 6 day christian conference held in Pwllheli, Wales. With students, people of all ages coming together from all of UK.
It’s been so so good to meet so many new people who all share the same purpose of knowing God more. I’m SO glad i went. I didn’t know anyone at first because the rest of my CF is going to another conference, not this one. Contacted the CU (another Christian Union on campus) for transport and we went there by car. It’s about 3-4 hours drive there with stops in between.
But I stayed with the Birmingham people for the rest of the conference because Mark Leong’s the one who invited me to this conference ( but he couldn’t make it because he’s tight with his dissertation deadline).
But it’s been lovely to know new people and be challenged in a positive way so much in so many areas. The whole conference was packed with so much! It’s quite overwhelming. There’re different tracks for different ages on different topics (on relationships, understanding Islam, how to read prophecies from the bible, digging deeper into the Scriptures, other theological and doctrinal stuff, etc etc) throughout the day we could go to. Even though I’ve been going to different tracks and absorbing so much, it still felt like i’m missing alot! =/ Gonna download the ones i’ve missed online. They were all really REALLY good speakers.
They might even get to have John Piper as a speaker for next year’s one!! So chun lah. I really wanna go again next year if circumstances allow me to.
I’m so grateful to God of how things fell into place. Especially how i ended up staying with the Birmingham people. They really made a mark in my life lah. Especially Sam (who's gonna get married soon! =D) and Helen. They’ve been such a blessing! I’ve been so SO encouraged and i realised how dry am i of God and how long i’ve been out of my comfort zone that i’ve lost track of the perspectives that i had before i came here. And that i’ve became quite selfish (unconsciously?) for the need to fend for my own (rights?) just because Fiona always said that it’s a dog-eat-dog world.
Gosh...and alot of other stuff that i don’t know how to put it in words. =/
Sigh, it has not been easy. I really miss the company of intelligent like-minded people. =/
How lahhh.... Now i truly understand the importance of fellowshipping with other believers, to be accountable and keep you on track.
Oh oh, it was so unexpected. I met Joanna Saw!! From FGA, who’s currently studying in Warwick. And also Rachel Ng!!!!! Former Sri Sempurna (secondary school) head prefect. Lol. That really made my day lahh. And also other fellow Malaysians. It’s been good to know them. =)
My regrets are that i didn’t have time to go walk on the beach and for not taking pictures with people!! Gah.
The main tent where we have our 'evening celebrations'. Reminds me of how the Israelites were to go into the Tabernacle of God as well to seek and worship God.
The whole place is actually a huge holiday site. And that faraway building with a 'thingy' sticking out is actually an indoor swimming pool and that thing sticking out is a slide.
Beautiful ay?
Oh it's quite cool that we stayed in a caravan. Forgive me for being jakun.
Only managed to quickly take these pictures before we left. The interior of the caravan:
There're 3 bedrooms like this in one caravan. This is just a standard one. There're more 'luxurious' and expensive ones in other areas.
Living area and kitchen. So nice hor?
Aduh, if i were to put everything in words i can never finish typing lah.
Random stuff:
My metal work. Gonna make and add some wooden trays on it.
And i made pan mee!! =D a month or 2 ago. Darn, time really flies. Its april now!!
=D
Andd....I did glass after the metal.
My latest craze - glass sandblasting! And this is how you do it: Stick a layer of self-adhesive vinyl (aka sticker) over a piece of glass. Cut out patterns and peel out whatever you want to be sand-blasted.
The sand-blasting machine.
That's Jess, my coursemate, sand-blasting her stuff.
And tada! =D
This is for my youngest sister:
Took me a whole day coz it's so complicated >.< Wanna make for my parents and the rest of my siblings as well. I really wish i have the time to make one for all of my friends lah. They'd make such nice gifts. =)
And this one(below) is for my friends who're a married couple. =P
It's a pair coz you get a heart when you put them together. Another friend of me commented that it's cheesy. Got mehh....=.=
And THIS (below), was initially for a card competition i decided to join the very last minute, which tak jadi lah coz not enough time. Felt super duper terrible for not managing my time well. i told a friend that i really felt like sh*t at that time. Gah.
But well, i'm liking it very much. Have never tried this technic in making cards before, so, at least it's a start.
I'm actually throwing all that i could think of into this post. Sorry lah. This blog feels so cluttered already.
There're so many other stuff to blog about like Aishah's double- surprise birthday a month ago, Malaysian Night, etc etc. And there're too many things going on to blog about. Sigh, couldn't be bothered as well. Sorry =(
These botak trees will be filled with leaves soon!
I'm supposed to be doing my work now. But i'll just get this done and over with it.
CNY was not too bad after all. Though nothing beats being home. Had been super homesick for the past weeks. And other stuff....felt like i've been walking round and round in the mud. But thank God streams of light had been shining through. Especially feedback from my lecturer for last term. It's truly by God's grace for the results i've gotten. =)
Anywayy..for CNY, i had a great chinese dinner with my church friends after service on CNY eve.
And had chinese buffet with the Malaysian bunch. Was so so bloated >.< But it was good =)
And then it was CNY "open house" at Jun's place.
CNY deco!!! It's been so long since i last saw this kinda thing. Feels at home =)
We bought cheongsams from the same place =P Semangat CNY!
And it's performance with Nusantara at Lakeside Nottingham for their CNY event during the weekends. Danced zapin. Apparently they wanted some South East Asian stuff, that's why.
The younger bunch. SO CUTE RIGHT??
So it started snowing on that day. That means we danced in the snow literally. =) There were fireworks after the whole event. It was awesome.
On the way home. Snow! =P
At the Asda carpark.
Fiona was so excited XD
The next day, we played snow in the Aboretum park.
Snowman with boobs. That makes a snow-woman! XP
Then later that night we celebrated Fiona's birthday. Was quite a rush.
Cacated brownie made with love But it looks quite nice with the candles though. heh.
So yep, it's been quite an eventful week. Had fun as well.
Few days ago, a friend of Fiona and also Voon's (small world!) passed away in his sleep at the age of 23. Twenty three!! Can you imagine? Reading his memorial site, i realised how much i have taken life for granted again. I've been wasting too much time meddling in petty unnecessary stuff and issues. Sigh. Enough is enough. I've missed and forgotten the true goal of life- running the race of faith that God has set before us and fighting the good fight. It's not how fast or long we can run, but how we run it.
Ok, back to work.

I dreamt that i'm back in Malacca this morning, enjoying kuih kapit and peanuts and watching TV with my cousins and all that. =((
Fyi, I haven't been watching TV because we need a TV license to watch TV here. (Not that i wanna watch though.)
I just realised life is so much easier back home.
Who said life was easy in the first place?
I really wish i'm back home.
I'm sick of the cold here.
I'm still in the middle of a (minor but major) 'crisis' that needs to be sorted out though i thought i did. =/
I wanna talk with Sook Yee very very badly. Ahh...where art thou???
I have researches that needs to be done.
One of it is to design tiles for a tile company for the french market. Their taste in design is completely different from us. Cracking my brain thinking of solutions.
I wanna go home.
but since i'm already here, which other people don't have the opportunity to, i shall make the most of out it.
I need to live. And cherish every single moment of it.
I must be semangat to live.
I must be semangat to live.
I must be semangat to live.
I stumbled upon Brooke Fraser's songs yesterday.
I've been listening to her songs (almost) 24-7 ever since. Beautiful voice, lyrics and tune - awesome songs.
